Well I got here followin' the southern star...

Here's the deal. I'm following this dream I've had for awhile. I'm taking a 20 day backpacking trip into the north country, following the Appalachian Trail from Gorham, New Hampshire to Williamsburg, NY.  My route takes me through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, to the rugged Green Mountains of Vermont, through the Berkshires in Massachusetts, into the Taconic Range of Connecuticut and finally into the hipster haven of Williamsburg, NY for some cold beers on my buddy Eric's rooftop.

I'm not sure how much I'll update this blog, but hopefully I can write a few observations while I'm on the trail. My hope is that I'll discover a little bit about nature, man, hiking, self-reliance and myself.
